We don’t leave innovations to chance. When developing new products and processes we look to the markets of the future. We are constantly seeking better solutions for our customers, focusing on careful use of raw materials and resources, making production more cost-effective, larger production units and increasing equipment availability. Here are some examples:
Key to a sustainable future: hydrogen from water electrolysis
Renewable energy is used optimally if every single watt produced can be consumed or stored. With our industrial-scale water electrolysis, hydrogen as a clean energy carrier can be produced by simply splitting water. Hydrogen can be stored and reconverted into energy, or directly used to feed it into the gas grid, produce sustainable chemicals (e.g. ammonia, methanol, synthetic natural gas) or for fuel cell vehicles.

Technologies for green cement plants
Every year more than four billion tons of cement are produced worldwide. With our vision of the green cement plant we turn conventional into greener and more sustainable cement plants. With our technologies we help cement producers to emit fewer emissions, consume less energy, save resources, use different components in binders and put digital technologies and data to use. Energy transition in chlorine production
Chlorine is one of the most important raw materials in the chemical industry. Around 70% of all products are manufactured using processes involving chlorine or its compounds. We have developed a process that reduces energy consumption in the manufacture of chlorine by up to 25%.
